Hrvoje Kušić

Hrvoje Kusic obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering form the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where is employed since 2001, currently as Associate Professor.

His primary field of interest is the application of advanced oxidation technologies (AOTs) for water treatment, including both homogeneous and heterogeneous AOTs for the degradation of various recalcitrant organic pollutants, studying the chemical phenomena and mechanisms occurring within, degradation pathways and related environmental aspects focusing biodegradability and toxicity of targeted organics, and their interactions with water matrix. His research focus is currently directed on the development and application of novel composite materials for solar driven photocatalytic water treatment.

He has published >70 papers in peer-review journals (h-index 21), edited/authored 6 books and (co)-authored 4 book chapters. He was awarded with the prestigious National Annual Science Award for 2011 for the research and contribution in the field of water/wastewater treatment by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of Republic of Croatia.
