The article from Francis M. dela Rosa (ESR 10) and co-authors with the title “Visible-Light Activation of Persulfate or H2O2 by Fe2O3/TiO2 Immobilized on Glass Support for Photocatalytic Removal of Amoxicillin: Mechanism, Transformation Products, and Toxicity Assessment” was published in Nanomaterials on 5th of December 2022.
The article describes the preparation and characterization of Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite and its application for visible light removal of Amoxicillin with the aid of oxidants (i.e. H2O2 or persulfate). AMX conversion mechanism were also investigated and transformation byproducts were correlated with the changes in toxicity toward Vibrio fischeri.
