Introductory Training School at USC

The first NOWELTIES training activities took place in the famous pilgrimage town of Santiago de Compostela, hosted by the homonymous university University of Santiago de Compostela.

Eleven ESRs, of the total 14, had their first chance to build connections among them and with their supervisors through an intensive introductory training week based on three parts: (i) sustainable water cycle and issue of organic micropollutants (OMPs) in wastewater treatment, (ii) transferable skills and cross-training activities, (iii) innovation in water sector.

The introductory training school started on Monday afternoon where the project was presented and the ESRs introduced themselves to all supervisors’ presents. From Monday afternoon to Thursday, the ESRs were involved in a variety of activities: lectures, practicum, and social activities.
On Friday, after the certificate award ceremony, ESRs had a guided visit to the full-scale urban WWTP of Guillarei (Spain) given by Aqualia.
