Marina obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and an MSc in Water Science and Technology from the University of Girona. She Spent 10 months in ICRA performing her MSc thesis about the ecotoxicological effects of carbon nanomaterials in combination with organic micropollutants in river biofilm.
As for her professional experience, she has collaborated on the determination of the optimal operating conditions for the production of biofuels through microorganisms in bioreactors. She has also worked in laboratory and field experiments where the effects of metal pollution and hydrological alteration due to human activity were evaluated at the community level in Mediterranean rivers.
