23 Jun Presentations at the IWA ecoSTP21
From June 21st to 25th, Silvana Quiton Tapia, Marina Gutierrez Pulpeiro, and Michele Ponzelli presented their research progress at the international IWA ecoSTP21 conference. The topic of this year’s conference was “Impacting the environment with innovation in wastewater treatment”.
The conference, organized by the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), registered 350+ participants, and it was held in virtual mode.
The conference was opened with the keynote speech of Dr. Radjenovic Jelena, supervisors and co-supervisor of several NOWELTIES’ ESRs, on its ERC starting grants ELECTRON4WATER.
Both Marina and Michele have been accepted for a full platform presentation of 12 minutes while Silvana for the short 6 minutes presentation. The titles of their presentations were:
- Cerium as a Trace Element to Enhance Nitrite-dependent Anaerobic Methane Oxidation Processes – Silvana Quiton Tapia (ESR1)
- Removal of Contaminants of Emerging Concern Using Powdered Activated Carbon for the Enhancement of MBRs Treating Wastewater – Marina Gutierrez Pulpeiro (ESR11)
- Anaerobic Degradation of Persistent Pollutants using Bio-reduced Graphene Oxide – Michele Ponzelli (ESR12)
